Five Nations - U.S. Under 17 Selects top Switzerland 8-1

A pair of Cedar Rapids RoughRiders affiliates scored goals while another backstopped the United States Under-17 Men's Select Team to victory over Switzerland 8-1 in the opening game at the 2017 Five Nations Tournament, played in the Czech Republic.  

Forward Grant Silianoff (Edina, MN) scored the eventual game winner in the 1st period, giving the U.S. a 2-1 lead it would not relinquish.  Defenseman Mitch Miller (Sylvania, OH) also scored and added an assist while goaltender Ethan Haider (Maple Grove, MN) stopped 15 of 16 shots for the win in goal.  

The U.S. team will face Slovakia today in their second game of pool play at 12:30 pm EST.
