RoughRiders Forward Granowicz Commits to Michigan

CEDAR RAPIDS- Cedar Rapids RoughRiders forward Nick Granowicz has committed to play his college hockey at the University of Michigan.  Granowicz, from Macomb, MI, was traded to the RoughRiders on November 28th from the Topeka RoadRunners of the North American Hockey League.  In 11 games he has scored three goals for the RoughRiders.

“We are happy for Nick and his family,” said RoughRiders Head Coach and General Manager Mark Carlson.  “He has worked very hard to achieve his goal of playing Division I college hockey.”

“As a young player growing up, my father would always take us down to Joe Louis Arena to watch the GLI college games and I always dreamed of playing for the Wolverines!” said Granowicz.  “The amazing coaching staff, history of the hockey program and excellent academics are second to none.  When I visited the campus in Ann Arbor, it went so well and I truly felt like it is home for me.  It’s a true honor to represent the maize and blue and I couldn’t be more excited.  This is a real dream come true!” he added.
