USHL - Riders drop a pair at Fall Classic


Pittsburgh, PA - September 28, 2017

The Cedar Rapids RoughRiders fell tonight to the Sioux City Musketeers by a 3-2 score in USHL Fall Classic play.  It is the teams 2nd loss in the preseason showcase held in Cranberry Township, a Pittsburgh, PA suburb.  

Samuel Salonen notched a hat trick for the Musketeers.  Dalton Messina (2nd period) and Liam Walsh (3rd period) scored the RoughRiders goals.  Jiri Patera was in goal for the loss.  

The Riders fell Wednesday in their 1st matchup of the Fall Classic to the Fargo Force by a score of 4-1.  Steven Agriogianis scored a 2nd period RoughRiders goal but the Force capitalized on the Power Play three times en route to the victory.  

Cedar Rapids will close out Fall Classic and preseason play tomorrow with a 12 pm CST matchup against the Sioux Falls Stampede.
