USHL - Riders sweep pair of home games


Cedar Rapids, IA 

The Cedar Rapids RoughRiders came back from a 3-0 defecit to the Central Illinois Flying Aces Saturday night at the Cedar Rapids Ice Arena to win 5-3.  Blake Pietila got a win in his USHL debut and Cedar Rapids had five different goal scorers.  Dalton Messina scored the game winner in front of the Central Illinois net with 9:42 left in regulation.  Graham Slaggert sealed the win with an empty net goal.  Tyler Jubenvill, Roman Ahcan and Neil Shea were the other RoughRiders goal scorers.  

Friday night the RoughRiders defeated the Lincoln Stars by a 4-2 score.  The RoughRiders again rode balance with four different goal scorers to the win.  Roman Ahcan got the game winner with 6:08 to go in regulation and Jiri Patera stopped 28 of 30 shots for the win.  Liam Walsh, Marek Valach and Josh Bohlin were the other RoughRiders goal scorers.  

The RoughRiders will be on the road the next couple of weeks, will return home next on Saturday, November 11th against the Madison Capitols for Military Appreciation Night.  The team will be wearing special Military themed jerseys that night.
