USHL - Riders top Team USA U-17's

The Cedar Rapids RoughRiders defeated the Team USA U-17 team Saturday night by a score of 4-3.  Brian Chambers, Tyler Jubenvill, Nathan Smith and Kevin Lombardi all scored in the 2nd period.  Lombardi's goal was the game winner.  Goaltender Blake Pietila was in net and stopped 31 of 34 shots for the win.  The Riders moved to 4-3 on the season while the loss for Team USA was their 1st of the season.  

Friday night the Riders fell by a score of 3-2 to the Team USA U-18 team.  Team USA got three 1st period goals which the Riders could not overcome.  Harry Roy and Graham Slaggert scored 2nd period goals to set the final outcome but Cedar Rapids could not get the equalizer.  Jiri Patera stopped 34 of 37 shots in the loss. 

The Riders road trip continues next weekend when they are on the road Friday, November 3rd at Fargo and Saturday, November 4th at Sioux Falls.  The Riders next home game is Saturday, November 11th at the Cedar Rapids Ice Arena against the Madison Capitols for Veterans Appreciation night.
