USHL - RoughRiders fall in Des Moines


Des Moines, IA - September 20, 2017

The Cedar Rapids RoughRiders fell tonight 3-2 to the Des Moines Buccaneers in USHL Preseason action at Buccaneers Arena in Des Moines.  

Liam Walsh gave the RoughRiders an early 1-0 lead 4:08 into the game and Jordan Timmons gave the Riders a 2-0 lead at the 9:12 mark of the 2nd period.  The Riders held the 2-0 lead as they moved into the 3rd period.  

Des Moines got one back early in the 3rd, just 1:42 into the period.  Reed Lebster tied it for Des Moines with 6:09 left in the game and Eric Otto scored the eventual game winner with 2:30 left in regulation.  

Austin Park started in goal for Cedar Rapids, stopping 27 of 30 shots in the loss.  

The RoughRiders return to preseason action Friday night when they head to Waterloo to take on the Black Hawks at Young Arena.  Faceoff is scheduled for 7:05 pm.
