2010 USHL Futures Draft Results

Cedar Rapids, Iowa- The United States Hockey League held the 2010 Futures Draft today. The RoughRiders had the last pick of the first round and chose defenseman Ian Brady 15th overall. Last season, Brady played in the Tier 1 Elite Hockey League for the Chicago Fury U-16 AAA team notching 4 goals and 7 assists in 38 league games.
In the second round and 16th overall, the RoughRiders chose forward Alex Roos of Team Illinois, a team which also competes in the Tier 1 Elite Hockey League. Roos played in 38 league games scoring 24 goals and 17 assists.
The RoughRiders tapped Team Illinois again by drafting forward Jack Rowe. Rowe was chosen 45th overall. In 38 league games last season Rowe collected 19 goals and 12 assists.
In the fourth round, the RoughRiders used the 46th pick overall to select forward Charlie Green of Detroit Catholic Central. Green, a freshman, notched 4 goals and 3 assists in 16 league games (Michgan Interscholastic Hockey Association).
In round five, the RoughRiders went with a New England Prep school standout. Dennis Kravchenko was selected 75th overall. In 34 games for the Kimball Union Wildcats Kravchenko tallied 19 goals and 35 assists.
The RoughRiders final choice of the 2010 Futures Draft was saved for goalie Collin Olson of Apple Valley High School. Olson, a sophomore, saw time in 9 league games earning a 4 and 2 record.
“We are happy with our draft results today,” said RoughRiders Head Coach and General Manager Mark Carlson. “We have added six quality people and promising hockey players to the RoughRiders organization. We look forward to seeing them in camp on June 3rd.”
Today’s draftees will be added to the RoughRiders’ affiliate list. The 2010 USHL Entry Draft is limited to players born in 1994 only. The 2010 USHL Entry Draft is slated for tomorrow.
