Birdsall commits to Boston College

Tendered incoming RoughRider goalie Chris Birdsall has committed to play college hockey at Boston College upon the completion of his RoughRider career.

At 5'11", 160 lb, the '96 Birdsall played last season for the North Jersey Avalanche U-16 team as well as the Glen Rock (NJ) High School.

Birdsall attended the NTDP 40-man camp in March and then went on to Nationals with the Avalanche.

Most recently, Birdsall finished with a 3-0-0 record while a member of the Under -17 Select Team in the Five Nations Tournament in Chomutov,  Czech Republic were he had one shutout and stopped 54 of the 58 shots he faced.  Boston College head coach Jerry York was in attendance at the tournament.

Birdsall is technically sound, strong positionally, and extremely competitive.  He plays an aggressive style and likes to make himself bigger by challenging shooters.  "We are very happy for Chris that he has had an excellent Five Nations Tournament and on this commitment to Boston College" said President, Head Coach and General Manager Mark Carlson.

Boston College is a member of Hockey East.
