Two Former RoughRider Goaltenders honored in ECHL

PRINCETON, N.J. – Joe Fallon of the Las Vegas Wranglers is the Reebok Hockey ECHL Goaltender of the Week for Jan. 23-29.


The 26-year-old was 3-0-0 with one shutout, a 1.30 goals-against average and a save percentage of .951 as the Wranglers swept a three-game series at Colorado.

Fallon made 24 saves in a 3-2 overtime win on Wednesday and followed that up with 26 saves in a 5-0 win on Friday, for his third shutout of the season. He ended the week with 28 saves in a 6-2 victory on Saturday.

A native of Bemidji, Minn., Fallon leads the league in games played (37), wins (23) and minutes played (2,127) while ranking second in saves (910) and seventh in goals-against average (2.48).

A sixth-round selection (167th overall) by the Chicago Blackhawks in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft, Fallon has appeared in 99 career ECHL games with Fresno, Gwinnett and Las Vegas, posting an overall record of 59-29-7 with seven shutouts, a 2.65 goals-against average and a save percentage of .910. He also has 55 games of AHL experience with Rockford, Peoria, San Antonio and Bridgeport where he is 22-23-1 with two shutouts, a 2.84 goals-against average and a save percentage of .903.

Runners Up: Jerry Kuhn, Idaho (2-1-1, 1.71 GAA, .945 save pct.), Alex Stalock, Stockton (3-0-0, 1.67 GAA, .948 save pct.) and Patrick Killeen, Wheeling (2-1-0, 1.34 GAA, .953 save pct.).
